Two-Body Problem: Solved
This fall, Laura and I will be starting as tenure-track Assistant Professors at @OhioState in the newly established Chase Center for Civics, Culture, and Society.
I got to take Laura and Judah to Ole Miss. It was a walk down memory lane. I lived in Oxford from 2011-2013, working with #teachforamerica in Holly Springs. After my favorite restaurants - Ajax, Snack Bar, BBB - we still found time for a philosophy conference #hottytoddy
10 years. You have seen me through grad school, engagement, marriage, and my first child. Oh, and did I mention that in those 10 years, you have lived in 9 different states? Happy birthday, Bella! 🐕🌎🎂
A lot of exciting courses at the @osuchasecenter this fall - my wife Laura will be teaching about How Politics Breaks Your Brain, @sabrinablittle is tackling happiness, and @DanielGullotta is looking to the life of Bonhoeffer as an inspiration for leadership and discipleship.
"On our end-of-year survey for all the programs, we had many students say that they were more likely to apply to graduate school in philosophy, but a large number also indicated that they were not."
Seeing the direction academia is headed, maybe that means we were successful?
I still stand by this - best in the business for professors looking to share their research with the public.
The last workshop will run this summer - apply by March 1st! Link below
Do you want to live a good life? Of course! Who wouldn't? The harder question is how to do it.
I'm teaching a @ThomisticInst reading group on Zoom in March, open to all college students. Join us to learn more about Aquinas's views on happiness!

I grew up the son of a Baptist preacher. Unsurprisingly, the first time I read the word ‘philosophy’ was in the Bible. The message was not a positive one.
And somehow I still ended up a philosophy professor!
Our first full year at @ThePhilLibrary just wrapped, and what a year it was. It has been humbling, building a website and teaching library from scratch. For helping me learn that there are many, many things I don't know how to do, thank you to everyone who made it possible!
