Take an important category of your life, and ask yourself:
How do I define progress in this area?
Now, how do your actions in that area align with your definition of progress?
Do they succeed, meet, or fall short? This is the only measure that matters.

@natberman79 That's a fair point. The context of this tweet is more along the lines of finishing projects one starts.
A common obstacle for many is continuously becoming distracted and leaving many untied ends. Keeping the person busy but robbing them of meaningful progress.
It's amazing how you are rewarded for longevity in practice.
I started journaling 2 years ago, & it's clarified the things that matter to me the most about any exercise.
I used to record everything, but now I only write the memories that I'll care about in years to come.

You have a backup plan (see#3).
Schedule time for fun. Things to look forward to aid motivation during the week immensely.
Plan a great date, game or movie night, or whatever you fancy. Make it good & make it often. You deserve it!

Basically, don't just inherit information handed to you, develop your knowledge from the ground up.
It's the only way to know something deeply and the best way to learn it.

It's okay to consume broadly as it will add to the formula that makes you unique. Just be mindful.

The relationship between all that you desire and the time you have left is terrifying.

Once you do, it empowers you to focus on what is super-essential to your life.

Where is your focus? Keep it targeted on your strategic long term goals, plan of action, and reflect on your actions in relationship to goals constantly. You'll stay on the right path.
What you pay attention to grows.
One of the hardest truths to accept is that you'll never have the time or attention bandwidth to do all the things you would like to do.
As soon as you accept this, you can flourish in one essential area.

So many want people to believe a 9-5 is the antithesis of freedom & happiness.
Before you buy into it, check if that person is trying to sell you something.
Then assess your life honestly. Structure & security are valuable features.
It's okay not to be satisfied with your current circumstance, but don't let others make you feel unhappy with something 95% of the population would be grateful to have.
