@ewarren We didn't have an Aunt Bee either, so we created @FlexableCare to provide on-demand childcare to workplaces and events, incl for the City of Pittsburgh. Would love to help! https://t.co/LCyojNfsh3
LOVED @blastpointinc 's hiring advice to hire moms: we're wildly organized, can manage multiple projects concurrently, And are creative problem-solvers. Cc: @wjsnetwork @FlexableCare
Maybe a good message to #Pittsburgh from Steve Case (AOL founder and VC):
“Take half the energy and half the capital you are willing to devote to Amazon and put it towards your startup sector—that will bear far greater fruit over the next 10 to 20 years.”
@hollyhliu@IFC_org@WorldBank@WBG_Gender Makes total sense: We're post-accel., have quit our FT jobs for this; have rev &"traction" but not enough to replace previous salary. So the cliff: can we get enough sales, quickly enough, before we run out of cash?
@karanortman@thegothamgal That would be very helpful! As will as ones that have actually treated women and minority founders well (as in, not just lip service or a line on their website).
People are always complaining teens are “too old” for trick-or-treating. Let me tell you. If your kid shows up at my door trying to hang onto one last shred of their childhood, I’ll be damned if I’m going to begrudge them a Snickers bar. Childhood is short enough as it is.
@PGHMarathon@ChickfilA@KidsofSteelPGH That's disappointing- we won't be participating. I like marathons where everyone feels comfortable. @Chikfila allows bigotry and homophobia - surely there are better sponsors for this event!
"Apologies, in and of themselves, are not work. They precede work. [ ] There is not a plot to excommunicate people for life, but the accused should have the respect, at least, to show that they’re committed to change. Show your work." - @TaranaBurke
