As we move through Work Zone Awareness Month, there are a few phrases we want everyone to keep in mind:
▪️ Slow Down
▪️ Stay Calm
▪️ Be Kind
▪️ Pay Attention
Good morning. Today is our yearly Worker Memorial event, where we remember and honor our 60 colleagues who have died in work zones since 1950. Please follow along as we share scenes and info throughout the day.
A display of 60 barrels representing each of our colleagues who have died in a work zone since 1950 near Capitol Way in Olympia. We will be remembering and honoring those workers at our Worker Memorial event today.

There is so much happening with or service starting January 30! We have expanded service hours with Route 9, added Freeland to Route 60, added additional hours to Camano routes, and introducing On Demand Zone 3 (this is a new service covering previously serviced route 3).
@WhidbeyWeekly & OH Main Street are sponsoring "Warm Your Soul with a Winter Stroll" on 01.28 from 2-5pm. Stroll downtown Oak Harbor on Pioneer Way - imbibe in delicious hot cocoa, tea, cider, and treats. Take our free bus service RTs 1, 2, 6, 9, 10. #January2023#islandtransit
Yesterday was a challenging day for many on Whidbey Island and around the Puget Sound. Our hearts go out to folks who had to deal with water damage. Today the King Tide should reach high tide - 13.1 feet by 9:28am and 9.1ft by 8:33pm. Please stay off flooded roads when possible.
Our NOAA Weather Radio transmitter out of Capitol Peak (Olympia area) is offline likely as a result of an ice-caused telecommunications issue. We don't have an estimated return to service time, but technicians are aware. #wawx.
Please check the website for additional updates on route deviations and suspensions. Roads are still very icy in some locations. https://t.co/OR5krezzT6
Wintry Precipitation: A wide mix of precipitation is expected through Friday evening across the entire area. This graphic shows the difference between each precipitation type. Our biggest concern is from freezing rain, we'll have more updates on this through the afternoon! #WAwx
