I am writing a story about the 5 Freeway widening project (Orange County to the 605 Freeway) and want to interview people about the freeway us now. Please call me at (562) 544-7789.
We invite our allies to join us for a practice picket on Nov. 2 in downtown Santa Ana to show the company, the public, and our co-workers that we are sticking together to win the contract we deserve.
We're ‼️FIVE‼️ days away from going on an Unfair Labor Practice (ULP) strike if management doesn't bargain in good faith and present us with an acceptable proposal.
The time for a fair and equitable contract is now!

🚨🚨🚨At the end of an all-day bargaining session yesterday, we told management they have a deadline of 12:01 am, Monday, Nov. 4, to bargain in good faith and present us with an acceptable proposal or we will begin our ULP strike.
I voted yes because we deserve livable wage, we don’t deserve waiting a decade or more for raises, and we all deserve to be able to afford to live in the communities we cover. https://t.co/V30GrwubRE
There's NO need to be sorry! Reporters deserve a salary that allows them to live in the cities they're assigned to cover without having to prioritize rent over medical bills, food or basic needs. There is nothing radical about that.
Journalists at Southern California News Group, ultimately owned by Alden, have voted to support an open-ended strike after years of unsuccessful negotiations on pay and contracts. They claim many reporters have not received a pay rise in over a decade https://t.co/0yMXvyyII7
Wanna know why the hard-working journalists with the @SCNGguild have voted overwhelming to authorize a strike? While the parent company's CEO is buying $19-million mansions he's also posting job openings at $18.75 an hour, 75 cents above minimum wage. 👊💪
🚨In the first authorization for an open-ended strike ever taken by journalists at a newsroom owned by the secretive Alden Global Capital, the @SCNGguild announced its members have voted overwhelmingly in favor of striking.

We stand with @SCNGguild in demanding Alden Global & MediaNews Group pay employees a livable wage to cover one of the nation's most expensive regions. Journalists shouldn't have to choose between affording rent, healthcare & groceries. #LocalNewsMatters https://t.co/RPAFkhqyq6
