Kamilla Cardoso faces off against the Sparks tonight, a spot that should be very favorable for her. LA has been a brutal defense all season, they struggle in alot of areas including the interior.

Overall the Sparks rank 14th of 15 teams in defensive rating and are allowing 93.6 ppg which is the most in the WNBA. They give up the highest FG% to opponents as well, along with playing at the 2nd fastest pace.

This is great for the Sky who should be able to find offensive success and efficiency. I like for Cardoso to be a big part of that as the Sparks are allowing 41.4 paint ppg ranking 3rd most in the league along with the 4th most restricted area FG's allowed.

That's ideal for Kamilla who does most of her damage at the rim, 89% of her made FG's are in the restricted area. LA also ranks 10th in defense vs pick & roll man and 12th vs putbacks, all encouraging to see for Cardoso.

On the season with 24+ minutes against non top 4 paint and defensive rating teams, Kamilla has averaged 19.4 ppg. When we also include when she faces bottom tier restricted area defenses, Cardoso has scored 22+ pts in 4/5.

This is a good bounce back spot after 9 pts vs PHX who ranks 3rd in paint and restricted area defense. Skylar Diggins remains out, her minutes now go to Vandersloot and Cloud who have less usage and are more willing passers.

We see when Cardoso plays next to Vandersloot this season, she has a 27.3 USG and has scored 33 pts in a 39 minute sample. With Diggins and Rickea off the court, Cardoso has averaged 16.3 pts per 27 mins.

In the last 3 competitive games when avoiding massive foul trouble, Kamilla has seen 28-30 minutes. She went nuclear for 27 points last year in 30 mins @ LA. Similar style center who only scores inside, Sheppard had 22 pts vs Sparks.
