Asked Penn State OT Anthony Donkoh on the potential impact of a supportive White Out crowd this Saturday after two rough losses.
“It would mean a lot because it means the fans still care about us, still love us.”
He says players can “feed” off a home crowd “pouring into them”.
Call me whatever but I’m a die hard Penn State football fan. I don’t give a shit if we are 0-12 or 12-0. I will support my guys and watch them every single second. LOYALTY. I wanna win every game and when they don’t I get upset but WIN LOSE OR TIE ITS NITTANY LIONS TIL I DIE 🦁
@olie490@WhiteOutFB@Jackson_S_Ford They didn’t really rob them, they asked them to go, them players said yes, they didn’t hold a 🔫 to their head and MAKE them go.. it was players choice… it’s called loyalty to a coach.. familiarity for most of them it’s their FINAL year!
@IpFlash@burghbulletin He’s assistant coach and also the cornerback position coach… I love Terry but he wouldn’t have been a good pick and he didn’t want HC long term.. we got who we need! We just need to be patient this season
@B1OBEY0ND At this point what I’m seeing is Penn State fans are ultimately judging based on two games and one season instead of looking at a bigger picture. Terry is great, but given the outcome of talent that left for the NFL or to go with JF I don’t think he could’ve pulled it off this yr
Let's be real...
Wanting to fire Matt Campbell after two games when he didn't get a fair start because of a botched hiring process is ridiculous.
I don't care how bad it's looked for Penn State.
He needs a full offseason and recruiting cycle to be properly evaluated.
Who was the crazy dude that he had these beliefs!!!🤣 I’m so PROUD to be a part of the GREAT UNIVERSITY!! WINNING is a RESULT of DOING things RIGHT!! So FOCUS on DOING THINGS RIGHT!!! The WINNING WILL COME!!! @PennStateFball
@OaktownO 💯 Campbell can do this Paterno didn’t walk out there year one and have a successful season in Franklin. Didn’t walk out there year one and have a successful season. Matt Campbell isn’t going to have that either people need to understand that.
Last night shook a lot of my confidence in Matt Campbell and this staff. There’s no way to sugarcoat what we’ve watched the last two weeks.
But firing a coach five games into Year 1 isn’t the answer either.
For me, Campbell deserves at least three seasons to show us where this is going. That means more than wins and losses. I want to see player development, toughness, improvement in the portal and, especially, recruiting.
His 2027 class is currently around the Top 20 nationally. That needs to improve. More importantly, we need to see whether he can build the 2028 and 2029 classes into the kind of talent base Penn State needs to compete for the Big Ten and CFP.
Campbell was hired to build a program, not fix everything in five games. He also signed an eight-year contract, so Penn State clearly made a long-term commitment.
Year 1: establish the culture and identify what needs fixed.
Year 2: significant improvement.
Year 3: we should know.
Last night was unacceptable. So was Wisconsin. Campbell deserves time…but that time has to produce visible progress.
How long would you give him? 💙🤍🦁 #WeAre
Nittany Nation, it's obvious we are going to experience a true rebuild with a head coach that although exceptional, has to completely adjust & adapt to the Big Ten.
It's going to take time.
And it this point the only expectation should be incremental improvement.
Winning is irrelevant.
There are bigger issues that need to be addressed that precede winning.
Penn State WILL be back, and they WILL be a power. But expectations are gone, except one.
Buckle in.
