@keepcalmandping Could be a transmit power mismatch between the client and the AP, if the AP's transmit power was dialed down significantly, the client might be heard better by the AP than the client can hear the AP. Alternatively, a higher noise floor at the client, reducing SNR for the client.
I dont mean any disrespect/offense or to question anyone's integrity. I'm genuinely curious of what membership buys access to, and what dues are used for.
Anyone able to speak to an actual benefit of WLA membership? What value have you seen, is it worth membership dues? I recall talk of a mentor program, did that get off the ground? I dont want to call it a money grab, but more pay to play with questionable ROI.
@raymondhendrix You could probably use it to clear a light dusting of snow off your solar panels. Would make that chore much more exciting for the kids 😀
@WirelessJimP@Robb_404@flyLAXairport I just learned of these this morning, what a coincidence! The video I saw was from 2015, I take it these add-ons never really caught on? Were vendors other than spidercloud offering these?
@CWNP an option for an ebook with the voucher and practice test would be nice. The ebooks are available on Amazon, but it doesn't appear that they can be ordered through the cwnp store.. I prefer a physical copy generally, but being able to search is nice when there is no index.
Knocked CWSP off my list today with an 88%! Just need to do the CWISA and I'll be set to submit my CWNE application..
@CWNP what are shipping times looking like for physical copies of study guides? Should I have bought the ebook?
Any other recommended reference materials?
@HeyEddie Perhaps we will see more APs with integrated directional capabilities. I know it would make some people's lives easier, as I've battled my share of upper management who for some reason have an irrational fear of external antennas because "they make things more complicated"..
@samuel_clements@MistSystems Thanks for sharing a link! I must have missed it if it was mentioned during the presentation. Searched all over https://t.co/rVhrlpICVB, and there was no reference to this resource at all yet.
@HeyEddie@wlanpi@TamoSoft@metageek@LiveActionIT@ekahau How about Acrylic WiFi? $19.95 for a 1 year license, $39.95 for a perpetual license. I've not used it in a long time, but at that time, support told me that multi-adapter capture support was coming soon.
@EmperorWiFi Is your column order Num, Time, SA, DA? You might be able to pinpoint if this is coming from a neighbor by checking the signal strength in the radiotap header and comparing to neighboring SSID beacons.
@nickjvturner@ekahau Hopefully I will get the opportunity to tinker with reporting again, and add some new material. Perhaps if I land some consulting work.. Maybe I should move the blogs to that website to draw some traffic :)
