I also want to keep the 19th Amendment, but I don’t think the argument at hand on its own will help toward that. I know many Christians IRL, who are stable and godly, who already want voting to be restricted to landowners as earlier in American history because they see landownership as showing financial responsibility and investment in the future for their children.
My argument has been that if that were the case there will easily again be a permanent landed class that manipulates laws so they keep land and wealth and the landless can never get land no matter their character or wisdom.
Interestingly, I have made some comments on Substack about spectral evidence and ways that it is different in this case vs. Salem, I was not aware anyone else was invoking the term or Salem.
And as an unmarried Christian man who has lived his entire life in Massachusetts and graduated from UMass Amherst, I can testify that finding women here even remotely eligible for marriage and having children with is very difficult outside specific constraints.

@BrandnCH@mellyneuf Social media can be quite wild. Last fall on Substack I was followed by a big writer there, and days later I was DM’d by someone using his name and profile pick, and quickly discovered he was a scammer.
@farmingandJesus People often forget that criminal trials are precedent not just for later trials that happen to have similar details but also in the culture for what one can get away with and what one cannot, and what arguments persuade and what do not.
I don’t have large enough sample sizes to assess if the stereotype of old people not being able to discern AI while young people can easily discern AI is true…
But I can definitely say that I have been stunned by multiple middle aged and older people in my life thinking that obvious AI is real, not just once but many times.
That’s interesting, he seems to be a substance dualist, as Calvin was if I’m not mistaken. I’ve come across some of the Puritans who held spiritual immaterialist hylomorphism (which some people today would have us believe was every Reformer) and some who held universal hylomorphism. I wonder what the ratio was of the various theories of soul among the Reformers and Puritans.
@abegreenleaf What about when someone sings the Star Spangled Banner to you and the Bald Eagle descends to open your heart to trust in Lady Liberty? I think many Americans will give just that testimony.
@TomBuck Noticing this is exactly what made me question the idea of deaconesses, along with noticing that in Acts 6:3 the apostles request seven ανδρας and not ανθρωπους.
I really can’t stomach clicking on videos with AI generated thumbnails. They are so off putting they create the same kind of revulsion in me as opening up a container and finding it filled with mold. You really don’t understand how disgusting your awful AI thumbnails are, people.
