@KKMPutrajaya when are we going to change BOR to ABOR? We are moving to high-volume day surgery, traditional BOR underestimates ward workload. Adjusted BOR (ABOR) could more accurately reflect service demand and staffing requirements @DrDzul@anwaribrahim?
Full Paying Patient (#FPP)
Not long ago it was after 5pm
Slowly it adds- after 2pm
Now we have emergency FPP
What do I think of this? The system is already functioning at its maximum capacity with limited resources (for the needy)- now we are allowing ppl to abuse the system
DM complications in the eyes accounts for around 1/3 of Ophthalmology: Vitreoretina surgical burden. It is lower than cataract surgical burden but cost 10x-15x more to treat (per surgery, per eye)
Saw a young lady, 23yo who is legally blind in both eyes. Diagnosed Diabetes Mellitus (DM) just recently in October. She works as a clinic assistant in a Private GP Clinic. She needs surgery for both eyes. End organ damage due to DM is occurring at younger age.
Not too long ago, many ppl in a state in Borneo was fast tracked for specialist training, hoping that they would serve the people in the state. Fast forward to this day, most have resigned, back to square one- still need to depend on ppl from elsewhere. Proud but no pride
Number is not everything. But it gives a lot of sense when objectively assessing “situation”. Similar to the amount of money a person takes home at the end of the month. Everything is relative when we make comparison. Unfortunately we don’t function in silo- comparing is the norm
@markcheongwl It is illogical to stop some program after it started for some years. There might be some reason or incident/s of grave consequences?) for this to happen- not made public? Especially so for Surgical based field- passing exams not equivalent to having enough hands on experience🤔?
