In 2022, Gavin Newsom broke ground on the Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing, a project featuring an overpass for animals across a Southern California freeway.

At the ceremony, Newsom boasted that the state had committed $54 million and promised to “complete the job with another $10 million.”

The project was supposed to be completed by 2025. Today, the bridge still sits unfinished. The total cost has now climbed to about $114 million, including roughly $77 million in state funds.

It listed a staggering 7.1 million registrants, even though the state had only about 4 million eligible adults.

And it gets worse: of those 4 million adults in Wisconsin, not all are registered, and not all vote. The actual number is closer to 3.6–3.7 million.
