You, @Cde_MMChinomona, are an ultimate embarrassment to Zimbabwe, including ZANUPF. How can the President of the Senate of an entire country involve herself in a radio station’s fun poll about Person of the Year while more than 2,500 women are dying during childbirth, the biggest hospital has only one maternity theatre, the whole country has no single working radiotherapy cancer treatment machine, unemployment stands at over 90 per cent, citizens receive only two to four hours of electricity per day, and the country is facing an open succession war.
You are determined to embarrass not only the country but also your boss and the President by publicly fighting over a radio station poll. This is political and media illiteracy of the highest order.
ZIFM is a youth radio station. Its audience is largely young and unemployed people. It is therefore natural that its listeners would relate to and support Fadzayi Mahere, a young lawyer they see as speaking to their lived realities and struggles.
Have some shame, Madam, and focus on statecraft, not radio polls. For the President of a country’s Senate to threaten a radio presenter with persecution over a light-hearted poll is a new low for Zimbabwe.
It reflects a complete lack of emotional intelligence, a deep misunderstanding of media and youth culture, and political bankruptcy. Shame on you.
For the avoidance of doubt, I had not seen your tweet. A regional foreign affairs minister asked me what is going on. Stop this childish four year old behaviour. You have sunk from the gutter into the sewer. You are internationalising your lack of common sense and embarrassing yourself on a global stage.
A whole ruling party getting hot under the collar over a fun radio poll? Shame on you.
To quote Fadzayi Mahere, Zimbabwe needs new and mature leaders, not skunks like you, ma’am.

Simple call-and-response songs like this one are frequently composed for amusement at village meetings in our culture. The music is typically very organic, and devoid of any influences from the west.
The Royal Commission has highlighted a broken system under the previous government
Governments should help Australians not hurt them
The liberals and nationals hurt people who they should have helped
@DavidColtart@CCCZimbabwe I am rooting for a successful launch. So far, what I am hearing and seeing on YouTube is encouraging. Thank you, Leader, for sharing the information.
The @CCCZimbabwe will formally launch its campaign this weekend in Bindura. All are warmly invited as we set out the plans we have to make #Zimbabwe great again.
The LAND issue in Zimbabwe is totally MISUNDERSTOOD by many outsiders.
Listen CAREFULLY what Dr Joshua Nkomo (who died EXACTLY 24 years ago) said in this 1979 interview.
The @SenateForeign completely lost it by sanctioning Zim for taking the land, the War was for LAND!
9.May his memory continue to inspire and guide us in the quest for a brighter future. We stand united, ready to fulfill his words and to be the catalyst for positive change in our beloved Zimbabwe.
Rest in power, Father Zimbabwe.
1. Today, on the occasion of the anniversary of the passing of Father Zimbabwe, Joshua Nkomo, we gather to pay tribute to a leader whose impact and legacy continue to resonate in our hearts and minds.
