WildID is an easy-to-use online software application to process camera trap image data. Upload your photos, and let WildID automatically detect and ID animals.
Loved being part of the live Q&A on #cameratrap image processing, WildID and #AI, hosted by @WILDLABSNET in their brand new #EastAfrica Community hub. Huge thanks to @NettyToo1 and the rest of the WILDLABS team! Get a behind the scenes look at WildID here:

A fascinating application of camera trap mod similar to Boombox. A device plays a sound on motion trigger to get frontal face shot on puma for population survey.

Are you looking for ways to automatically process your #cameratrap imagery? Joining us on Thur 23rd June at 11am EAT/9am BST for a Live Q & A discussion, is Kate from @WildIDapp who will highlight this #AI model you can use to process your data. https://t.co/7hpLy85E19
@MelanieClapham@wildlife_alexia@WildCAM_Network Take care with camera settings! Record setup/service actions with whiteboard. In the giraffe pic camera orientation is set incorrectly, in the whiteboard pic date/time is incorrect - but at least now we can see the exact offset. Correct both by editing EXIF data after retrieval.
Ever set up your #cameratraps incorrectly so the images are rotated 180 degrees?
This really confuses WildID's #machinelearning model, unlike our brains. Compare the kudu predictions below.
Luckily in the giraffe image, WildID found something right-way up it could recognise!
Proud to report that we earned the title "Wildlife Conservationist" in the fun #earthday2022 quiz! Learned something funky about sea turtles too. See how you score.

@Cape_Leopard The pleasure was ours! Loved working with the awesome @capeleopardtrust team, we learned so much, and have been inspired to add a raft of new features to take WildID to the next level. Can't wait for the next survey!
NEW FEATURE RELEASED! Number of cards to view
Select the number of cards you view on each page of search results in WildID - up to 48 cards at a time.
Verify all cards on the page at once, speeding up bulk verification of your #cameratrap images once they've been auto-detected.
Does WildID automatically detect and classify birds?
Ostrich, vulture, secretary bird, bustard and guinea fowl are automatically detected, the rest are "Bird (Other)". Aiming to add blue crane, bird of prey and francolin/spurfowl next.

Heartbreaking to see this mother giraffe come back to check on her baby again and again on the 6th, 7th and 8th of Jan.
Research staff at Marataba Conservation Camps put a #cameratrap up to watch the story of this kill unfold in 1823 images over 4 days.
