The Awakened Flame
They woke a man who had buried his hope in the dirt of a broken world—
a man who had seen too many children bleed without justice,
their cries swallowed by silence while the guilty danced free.
He watched liars and fraudsters climb the ladder of gold and lies,
polished smiles hiding knives,
while honest hands—calloused, tireless—scraped and bled
just to keep the roof from falling and the table from going bare.
Then they came.
They lit a fire in his chest with visions of a brighter dawn,
painted justice like a sunrise he could almost touch,
spoke of a world finally becoming what it was always meant to be:
fair, fierce, and true.
For the first time in years, he believed.
His blood ran hot with purpose.
His soul stood tall again.
Now the same hands that kindled the flame
begin to smother it.
They walk backward on every promise,
trading the vision for the same old game.
And the fire they awakened does not die—
it burns hotter, deeper, angrier.
It scorches the inside of his ribs,
a righteous rage for the world they showed him,
for the children still waiting,
for the workers still scraping,
for the future they dared him to dream
then tried to steal away.
This man is awake now.
