I know everyone wants to dog pile on Grier, but his core philosophy of team building is figuratively and literally built on a house of cards:

- Not weighting pre-existing injuries heavily enough into draft evaluation (his biggest failure)
- Offensive line is heavily weighted as less important than skill positions
- Using 1-2 year contracts as 401k plans for aging, unrosterable veterans to replace younger talent that you let walk
- Building top heavy, using high draft pick trades for skill position players to close the offensive line gap, closing the door on any possibility of real depth (pair this with his love for pre-existing injuries and discounts and you get exactly what happened end of year the last 3 years)
- Unwillingness to retain talent for aging vets you think that can produce the same outcomes for pennys less (rarely do)
- Drafting projects for “3 years down the road” and relying on injured and aging vets to fill the gaps until the projects “get there”

Every issue and failure with this team can be attributed to one of those core philosophies since 2016 - I can’t really argue for him anymore to stay.
