Family run bakery chain Coughlans with 31 stores across south London and the South East is closing after nearly 100 years blaming devastating tax hikes including higher National Insurance and business rates

Co-owner Sean Coughlan said the extra £20,000 pounds a week in costs from the changes introduced under Keir Starmer and Rachel Reeves had made the business unsustainable especially after heatwaves slashed footfall by half

The closure which comes as comedian Romesh Ranganathan is also a co-owner has sparked anger locally with some accusing Labour of destroying high streets.

Everyone knows this is digital ID via the backdoorn and nothing to do with protecting children.
The UK government has a terrible record when it comes to safeguarding children against harm (eg. the Covid vaccine rollout to kids, the industrial scale rape gangs, exposing children to gender ideology in schools, the proposal to put folic acid into everyone's food...the list goes on).

What dismal news that the Assisted Suicide bill is coming back. They are hoping to use the Parliamentary override to force it through without any of the improvements and safeguards offered in the Lords last time including by the Bill’s advocates like Lord Falconer. We’re going to be offered the same bill that left the Commons (left with lots of ‘oh the Lords will clean up that glaring problem, don’t worry just pass it’) on a take-it-or-leave-it, unamendable basis. Even if you accept the case for assisted dying this Bill is terrible, far too expansive and full of holes to be filled in after it’s in statute… but the advocates know they’ll never have a such a ‘progressive’ Parliament for years, so it’s now or never. So they’re trying to push through a dangerous bill that they admitted needed significant improvement, because it’s their last chance. They must be stopped.

What happened to Henry Nowak is the most tragic example of what happens when the police get their priorities wrong.

The 18-year-old student was stabbed with a 21cm ceremonial knife.

As he lay bleeding to death on a gravel driveway, police officers arrived and handcuffed him.

They chose to focus on an allegation that Henry had used a racial slur rather than the fact that he had been stabbed.

When Henry told officers he could not breathe and that he had been stabbed, one replied: “I don’t think you have, mate.”

Instead of trying to save his life, they arrested him.

The Free Speech Union has warned for years that the police need to get their priorities straight.

There are serious questions that must be answered by Hampshire Police.

Digital ID + CBDC infrastructure = the ability to turn your money on and off based on behavior.

What you’re seeing in the UK is the political layer being used to install the financial control grid. No one voted for it because if they explained what it actually does, it wouldn’t pass.

The playbook is simple:
1. Introduce Digital ID as ‘security’ or ‘efficiency’
2. Link it to payments and benefits
3. Use AI and data to enforce compliance

If you want to stop it, the fight isn’t just political. It’s financial. Keep your assets outside the system, use cash, and build local economies that don’t require permission to transact.

Otherwise, you’re not a citizen anymore. You’re an account.
