Every summer, adorable pikas gather mouthfuls of wildflowers and grasses and build giant haystacks to stock up for winter. They’ll lay them on rocks in the sun to dry them out and then store them in their dens. 💐

Bald Eagle 24-390, who is suffering from gunshot wounds to his beak, had his third surgery last week for us to do more repair work. The tissue there looks as good as we could hope for and we are seeing signs of healthy granulation tissue starting to fill some of the wounds!

This amphibian is a Malaysian golden gliding tree frog. It resides in a variety of areas including cities and other built environments. It breeds in stagnant pools and puddles where its hungry tadpoles can devour decayed plants, invertebrates, and sometimes even one another.

Good news! Recently, federal wildlife officer (FWO) Adrian Hunter responded to a report of an injured golden eagle in northern Nevada. FWO Hunter transported the bird to a rehabilitator in the Lake Tahoe area & released it back into the wild when it was in good health. #thread

Remember the eastern grey squirrel that came to us ENCASED in spray foam? After a lengthy recovery process, he's back in the wild. His squirrel box "starter home" is cached with foodstuffs to tide him over until he finds a cozy drey (nest) or tree cavity to settle into.

This adult limpkin was admitted one month ago after an apparent building strike. Good folks at @Graybar rescued him outside their Service Center & brought him in for care. His broken collar bone healed nicely and he'll be back to the wild soon! #wildliferescue #accidentallimpkin
