@Chakraborty_UNC @johnpike15@Arthur_Again@roderickgraham@asymmetricinfo@JillFilipovic The issue is that treating them like monsters is dehumanizing and treats them as completely irrational actors. However wrong they may be they aren’t monsters and they do have legitimate reasons (in their eyes) for why they believe what they believe. I’m not saying it’s ever easy.
@nickcammarata@Aella_Girl I don’t think you’re taking into account how malleable personality is. Most people don’t put in the effort it requires, but it certainly can change. The numbers are likely too small to be detected by psychological research as anything other than statistical noise.
@jane_gatsby Amazing show. It’s very much the GoT effect where people don’t want to watch it because it’s superheroes (or swords and dragons), but once they do they realize how fucking good it is.
@EuthyphroYaBoi @the_lost_cake @1_gutmensch @Aella_Girl I don’t believe committing actions that could harm is moral if no one is harmed in that specific instance. Justifying violations of privacy for purely selfish gain would likely lead to a cultural/systemic circumstance with an unacceptable increase in the probability of harm.
@jannigox @Aella_Girl Women use the implict or explicit promise of sex to manipulate men they’d never sleep with. Women have a lot of sexual power of men.
