Writing the great American novel. Forever misplacing my drink, sometimes myself, sometimes my wife @CarolynSLoomis. Oh, baby, I'm a loser 🍸
Dark Shadows RP 18+
@SabrinaStuartDS Will was trying to butter her up and might be guilty of spreading it on a little too thick, however, he did believe in what he was saying. Even Carolyn would give him that. He'd never understood how Angelique had put up with the High Chauvinist of Collinwood all those years.

Will slammed the door of the house and walked around to the garage. His head was throbbing. Carolyn had chucked something at him and he'd been too slow ducking. He hadn't even seen what it was. The throb became a sting and he saw a cut on his forehead in the rearview mirror.

@SabrinaStuartDS She looked so sad all of a sudden...like a wilted flower. He hovered behind her uncertainly. "Well, you're a doctor just like Cyrus, aren't you? Why shouldn't you be treated like one? Some men get threatened by a woman being important, but I'm for women's lib and all that."
1/2
@SabrinaStuartDS "Cy is always so enigmatic about his experiments. What about the work you do, is it mysterious, too?" He trails off, noticing her expression. "Did I say something wrong again?"

@SabrinaStuartDS The room lacked a personality—a story. It was like a show room, not a place where real people lived.
Sabrina returned with a cup. Will pretended it was Irish coffee. He searched for some harmless topic of conversation that had nothing to do with why he was really there.

@SabrinaStuartDS Will shudders. He'd always had a very visceral reaction to tea. "Oh, no, no, none of that. I have very strong feelings about tea. It's bad for you, you know. Tannic acid. Do you have something, uh, stronger maybe?"
@SabrinaStuartDS "Hey, why don't we keep each other company while we wait for Cyrus to come back? I'm not such a bad guy once you get to know me." He'd have to go slow, he thought to himself, this one seemed easily spooked.

@SabrinaStuartDS "Yes, Quentin makes it sound like a disease, doesn't he? Words are a gift." Will cherished that almost laugh of hers—too much, considering they were strangers to each other...and he was married. But outside of any of that, she could help him. Sabrina had been at the séance.

@SabrinaStuartDS "Look, we seem to have gotten off on the wrong foot. I don't think so well on my feet sometimes. Oh, if only I'd written our first meeting, it would have gone beautifully! I think maybe I shall write it. Then send it to you? What do you think?"
2/2
@SabrinaStuartDS "I'm not sorry for it. Then we wouldn't have met." There must be a reason why Cyrus kept her a secret all to himself. Will wondered if the doc was the jealous type? He didn't bother to correct her about Carolyn's name; it wasn't important.
1/2
@SabrinaStuartDS "Sabrina Stuart, I'll remember that. It's nice to meet you." Will was also thinking about the welcome party Quentin had thrown for Cyrus. Surely Sabrina had been there. He didn't remember much of it...only memories of the punch and little science-themed shot glasses.

@SabrinaStuartDS "That's right! Loomis House," Will said proudly. "You ought to come by and see it sometime. You know, old houses can be full of delightful surprises. I'm sure my wife would love to meet you, too," he added, hoping to make her feel comfortable.
1/2
@SabrinaStuartDS "I'm Will Loomis. You know, part of the Collins family? Look, I'm sorry for not introducing myself. I just didn't think anyone but Cy would answer." The doc often seemed to avoid him. Probably Quentin's influence... He should have expected her to not know anything about him.
2/2
@SabrinaStuartDS Will had grown rather lazy by way of his own brand of rumpled good looks. It usually opened doors for him without him really trying, but now he finally took in the woman's demeanor and how upright she carried herself. For this one he'd need to remember his manners.
1/2
@SabrinaStuartDS "Samantha--Sarah? Cyrus didn't mention how pretty you are." As a matter of fact, Will had forgotten that she even existed until this moment. The doc had barely mentioned her; taking her for granted already, Will assumed. He could use that to his advantage.
2/2
@SabrinaStuartDS This was better than talking with Cyrus. "Yeah, um...you're the doc's fiancé, that lady doctor that helps him with his mad science stuff. Uh..." He'd heard her name mentioned once. Will snapped his fingers trying to remember.

Will almost started in surprise when the door was opened by someone unexpected. Unexpected, but very welcome. His smile changed. "Well, hello there!"

Yes, this seemed like the right place. Clean and tidy, but with something stiff about it, as though one could put too much starch in a building. Will wondered what all it concealed. He rapped smartly on the door before realizing there was a doorbell.
