This weekend I was invited to see a very special railway engine under full restoration, LSWR No.563, at Bill Parker’s Flour Mill workshop. It is the most *in*credible survivor and one of the most elegant steam locos still extant. Video for @SteamRailway coming soon.

Progress on №563, the elegant last-surviving L&SWR T3 Class loco (b.1893, last steamed 1948, gifted to @SwanRailway Trust by @railwaymuseum in 2017) has been exclusively revealed to @SRT563LG supporters at the Flour Mill in Glos. Re-wheeled last week, re-steaming is due 2023.

@LAnthonyFarley @LeninsLinguine The bridge from Waterloo to Waterloo east is still in existence, now used for bike storage etc. It came through the middle around Platform 12 I think. Will take a picture when I'm at work again and out of Iso.

Fun fact: Britain once had 400+ old converted railway carriages as affordable, sustainable holiday homes (train travel was mandated). BUT some exist for us in 2022 too! My 8-page feature in @SteamRailway (out now) lists 10 of my favourites... Do buy it & book one: you'll LOVE IT.
