I’ve poured months into this, rewriting until my eyes burned and I needed eye drops to keep going.
What if the voices in your head…weren’t yours?
James Harlan ripped the neural implant out of his own skull.
But the people building humanity’s first colony on Mars are still wired in…
...and now they’re hearing thoughts, commands, and a growing hive mind that was never meant to wake up.
Your thoughts are no longer private.
The Interference: A Conspiracy of Minds on the Red Planet drops you straight into the paranoia.

The document references patents, quantum physics, the Monroe Institute, binaural audio, and the U.S. Army's interest in remote viewing.
It also details a step-by-step operational protocol for inducing out-of-body states in personnel.
The fiction I write begins exactly where documents like this stop answering questions.

1983: U.S. Army Intelligence. Fort Meade.
A lieutenant colonel was tasked to assess whether a program for training human consciousness could have practical military value.
He didn't dismiss it.
He wrote 29 pages using quantum mechanics, holographic theory, and physics to explain how consciousness can exit the body and operate beyond the boundaries of time and space.
His final recommendation: prepare personnel to encounter non-corporal intelligent energy forms.
This is a real document. CIA STARGATE collection. Declassified 2003.
I've just published the first full-text searchable transcription.
Including page 25. The one everyone thought was missing.

Neuralink will also begin high-volume production of brain-computer interface devices this year. Automated surgery with scaled implants.
SpaceX is targeting Mars around the same window just a few years out.
These two timelines will intersect. The first people on Mars may also be the first people with neural hardware operating under conditions no engineer has tested: radiation exposure, atmospheric pressure differentials, and prolonged psychological stress. That stress rewires the brain from the outside while the chip rewires it from within.
Nobody has run that experiment yet.
Who would have thought?
The government spends beyond its tax revenues and issues Treasury bonds to cover the gap. Primary dealers buy these bonds, and the federal reserve purchases them in turn by crediting new reserves into existence.
This single act creates money from nothing. Banks multiply those reserves through lending. The government spends the proceeds. Interest and principal come due, requiring fresh borrowing. The Federal Reserve buys again, expanding the currency supply to keep yields low. Each round feeds the next. Starting to sound like a Ponzi scheme, isn’t it?
Debt grows and currency dilutes. The cycle sustains itself because the central bank stands ready to monetize whatever volume the Treasury issues.
This mechanism operates today at enormous scale and its web reaches far and wide. It’s entrenched in nearly everything. Political incentives favor spending over restraint. Entitlements expand. ‘Crises’ demand intervention. The system accommodates every pressure by creating more dollars. Again. And again.
Default remains possible because bond holders expect repayment in dollars of real value. Persistent monetization erodes that value through inflation which all of us are feeling (outside of the system). If investors lose confidence, yields spike, borrowing costs soar, and the feedback loop turns destructive.
And guess who gets left holding the bag of Monopoly money when the dust settles? Who bails everything out when it all fails? You and I. All of us. Not the banks. Not the federal reserve. Us. Everything falls on the backs of the American citizens. And people are dead asleep to the fact that nearly 40% of our deficit has been created in the last six years.
I’m bullish on the future of America. But I’m not bullish on USD, in general.
It won’t last forever. It’s not intended to.
As a second note, I find the ending of the film very interesting. With the way the scenes are cut, it leads me to believe Dave is reaching out to himself each time albeit in a different universe. It’s as if because he surpassed the speed of light, he was transported to a different dimension. Time doesn’t seem to pass in that room. You’ll notice there’s no clocks or indication of any time passing other than the scene cuts (or Dave seeing himself older, hearing himself behind him breathing and knocking over a glass, etc.). Then the monolith, of course, which can be its own separate speculation.
One of the creepiest parts of 2001: A Space Odyssey is when Hal gets unplugged and says “I’m afraid, Dave” and begins singing Daisy.
The second creepy part is realizing that was the first song the IBM computer learned to sing and it was written this way intentionally.
But the most creepy part, to me, is these visionaries saw our future. We are very close to achieving Hal-level AI. Whoever creates it must wield that power with incredible responsibility.
It’s almost unbelievable to realize this was born from short stories by Clark in the 50’s and released as a film in 1968.
Whether you read the book or watch the movie, the only thing that seems to show its age is the cadence of the actors’ voices (which tradition has unfortunately lost).
BREAKING: Several secret alien bases are allegedly hidden on Earth and used as intelligence-gathering hubs, UFO repair facilities, and entry points for extraterrestrials, according to former CIA psychic spy Lynn Buchanan.
Your phone knows where you go. Your browser knows what you want. The next device knows what you thought before you decided whether to act on it. At some point the word ‘privacy’ stops being useful and we need a different word entirely.

“I like knowing my thoughts are mine."
His daughter was wrong.
Ten years after they tore the neural implant from his skull, the voices return at 3:14 a.m.
The Colonial Authority drags him out of hiding.
Twenty-three colonists on Mars are hearing thoughts that aren’t theirs.
They need the only man alive who remembers what it feels like when your mind stops belonging to you.
What he discovers at Arcadia Base isn’t a malfunction.
It’s a rewrite.
And it’s already inside him.
A high-concept techno-thriller set on Mars, where the science of mind control is pulled from real patents and declassified documents. For fans of Blake Crouch and Michael Crichton.
The mind control science feels terrifyingly real, as the novel is rooted in a real US Patent, US3951134A, 'Apparatus and method for remotely monitoring and altering brain waves.'
Brilliantly said. Genuinely brilliant.
George Carlin called this out so many years ago. Most people thought he was just a comedian. In reality he was just spreading the truth. He claimed it would never be fixed. I hope one day it is:
“But there’s a reason. There’s a reason. There’s a reason for this, there’s a reason education SUCKS, and it’s the same reason it will never, ever, EVER be fixed.
It’s never going to get any better, don’t look for it, be happy with what you’ve got.
Because the owners, the owners of this country don't want that. I'm talking about the real owners now, the BIG owners! The Wealthy… the REAL owners! The big wealthy business interests that control things and make all the important decisions.
Forget the politicians. They are irrelevant. The politicians are put there to give you the idea that you have freedom of choice. You don't. You have no choice! You have OWNERS! They OWN YOU. They own everything. They own all the important land. They own and control the corporations. They’ve long since bought, and paid for the Senate, the Congress, the state houses, the city halls, they got the judges in their back pockets and they own all the big media companies, so they control just about all of the news and information you get to hear. They got you by the b****
They spend billions of dollars every year lobbying, lobbying, to get what they want. Well, we know what they want. They want more for themselves and less for everybody else, but I'll tell you what they don’t want:
They don’t want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking. They don’t want well informed, well educated people capable of critical thinking. They’re not interested in that. That doesn’t help them. Thats against their interests.
Thats right. They don’t want people who are smart enough to sit around a kitchen table and think about how badly they’re getting f***** by a system that threw them overboard 30 f****** years ago. They don’t want that!
You know what they want? They want obedient workers. Obedient workers, people who are just smart enough to run the machines and do the paperwork. And just dumb enough to passively accept all these increasingly shitty jobs with the lower pay, the longer hours, the reduced benefits, the end of overtime and vanishing pension that disappears the minute you go to collect it, and now they’re coming for your Social Security money. They want your retirement money. They want it back so they can give it to their criminal friends on Wall Street, and you know something? They’ll get it. They’ll get it all from you sooner or later cause they own this f****** place! It's a big club, and you ain’t in it! You, and I, are not in the big club.
By the way, it's the same big club they use to beat you over the head with all day long when they tell you what to believe. All day long beating you over the head with their media telling you what to believe, what to think and what to buy. The table has tilted folks. The game is rigged and nobody seems to notice. Nobody seems to care! Good honest hard-working people; white collar, blue collar it doesn’t matter what color shirt you have on. Good honest hard-working people continue, these are people of modest means, continue to elect these rich c*** suckers who don’t give a f*** about you….they don’t give a f*** about you… they don’t give a f*** about you.
They don’t care about you at all… at all… AT ALL. And nobody seems to notice. Nobody seems to care. Thats what the owners count on. The fact that Americans will probably remain willfully ignorant of the big red, white and blue d*** thats being jammed up their a******* everyday, because the owners of this country know the truth.
It's called the American Dream, because you have to be asleep to believe it.
@LeadingReport ...Google?
A massive tech corporation playing God with the environment and public health? Not creepy at all… 🙄
Private companies shouldn't be releasing billions of modified insects into the wild. This needs way more scrutiny.
@Kalshi Hey @grok what’s the symbolism of 42 and how it aligns perfectly with Elon’s favorite book, The Hitchhiker’s Guide
How ironic! Simulation confirmed 😂
It has been a month now since launching my Mars techno thriller book The Interference.
I’ve sold 27 copies thus far.
It is unbelievably hard for a new indie author to sell books. I can’t tell you how much this means to me. I know it’s not a “breakout amount” as some might think, but to me, it’s everything. It shows me that my work is valued. And appreciated. It’s exciting to me to be able to write content and have people not only read it, but also enjoy what they are reading.
Just want to say I’m thankful. 🫡
I hope that this is the start of something much bigger one day. Time will tell.
Thank you to all who have supported my work.
