@omwambaKE Education is among the keys to success. It depends on the contents one is learning. Apparently, we learn a lot of stuff in schools that don't align with what is required to make education a gainful venture
The minimum wage in Kenya in 1990 was between KES 1500 to KES 2000 per month. Let's use KES for this post.
In the same time, the price of 1 ounce of gold was KES 8,779.37. This was the equivalent of $383.51 and the exchange rate to the USD was 22.9.
Today, the minimum wage is KES 13,572 which is up 578.6% in 34 years.
The value of 1 ounce of gold today is KES 271,600. This is up 2993.62% in 34 years.
This means that, if Kenyans were paid in gold, they would have to work 5.17x more to earn the same salary that would buy the same products the salary was buying in 1990. Or rather, paid in KES, Kenyans now have to work 5.17x more to buy the same stuff.
If an average worker in 1990 took a 3 year loan to buy a piece of land, the today worker needs 15.52 years to repay the same loan.
And why is this?
Nobody can print gold out of thin air. All gold miners have to spend money and resources to mine and refine gold. However, the Central Bank can just print money out of thin air and it has ben doing it. Gold supply is limited.
If you want to live in an economy where the value of your labor cannot be devalued, you must earn and save in Bitcoin. While at the moment, there aren't enough jobs paying in Bitcoin, you are not limited into how much you can save in Bitcoin.
This means that, the number of hours you work today, paid, converted to Bitcoin, and saved, will be able to purchase more in future compared to any other savings mechanism known to man today.
It's just simple math. Else, the central bank keeps printing, your savings continue being devalued, and in the end, the value of your labor keeps getting stolen via inflation.
The choice is yours.
