This morning, flanked by our Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Local Government, Mr. Ben Kumumanya, I held a productive meeting with the @UNFPAUganda Country Representative in Uganda, Ms. Kristine Blokhus. We discussed the various projects being implemented under UNFPA and explored opportunities to further strengthen our partnership.
I thanked Ms. Kristine Blokhus for UNFPA’s important initiative of training and supporting our Parish Development Model (PDM) Parish Committees across all refugee-hosting districts, Busoga, and Karamoja. This initiative is equipping committee members with relevant skills thereby strengthening the successful implementation of the PDM.
On behalf of the Government of Uganda, I reaffirmed our commitment to working closely with UNFPA on all initiatives aimed at improving service delivery, empowering communities, and advancing inclusive socio-economic transformation across the country.
Together, we shall continue building resilient and prosperous communities for all Ugandans.
Every day, national television broadcasts began with an introductory video of Mobutu Sese Seko descending from the clouds before regular programming started. This was was to push his cult & projected an image of him as a divine figure.
