Ezek 20:25 God says He “gave them statues that were not good…(26) in their offering up all their firstborn.” Yet in Jer 32:35 He says He did not command them to give their children up to Molech. Here’s a little story I wrote for my 2025 Christmas assignment. It’s abt a lady, Cheryl, having a bad day but is asked by her pastor to visit an elderly lady no one else wants to go see. Mrs. Johnson, the Curmudgeon, has a surprise or two for Cheryl. Hope you’ll enjoy.

As I knocked on the door, I looked around the assisted-living complex softened by the snow. Most of the small apartments had some sort of Christmas decorations, ranging from sad minimalism to a bright and cheery overworked display. Looking in vain for any trace of holiday spirit in front of the abode I had just knocked on, my spirit sank a little, despite trying to dismiss this as not having the resources to spruce up their place. Even a little. Right?
