This would be the fastest way for National Government to get more energy onto the grid. Feed in tariff (FiT) set at levels guided by latest REI4P bids, market will respond fast. If uptake is too fast, lower the FiT. If uptake isn't fast enough, raise the FiT.
Seems like City of Cape Town is leading the way and putting the National Energy Crisis Committee, (NECCOM), Eskom and other municipalities in South Africa to shame.
Deeply disappointing and unjustified attack from our own Minister. Perhaps he didn't see our support for the climate finance partnership that would bring SA $8.5bn and cut transition risk, while financing the #justtransition, create jobs and prevent pollution deaths? See links β¬οΈ
Quite a number of really good positions to be filled @SOLAGroupAfrica. If you are high performing, and motivated to plug into a fast moving energy company. This could be for you.

The effectiveness of our recovery will depend to a great extent on the scale and pace at which we can bring new electricity generation capacity online.
To my colleagues in the SA media: stop making bullshit βprojectionsβ about Covid-19 infection rates. Use best practices when framing the available information. And remember: disease modelling is a complex business, and should be reported on as such. Donβt drunk uncle this.
AB InBev Africa has committed to 100% renewable energy by 2025 - and they have already achieved 50% with the help of 8.7 MW solar on their breweries across South Africa @SABreweries#cleanenergyforafrica
"Unregulated generation is currently limited to 1 MW plants with indications that this will be increased to 10 MW" - This is a critical regulation step! https://t.co/YYQYWtw9Wc
That determination followed by r5, and a lift on the 1MW restriction for private power projects so that the private sector an also make an immediate contribution.
@ferialhaffajee I donβt need βsorryβ. I need @GwedeMantashe1 to issue a determination under the Electricity Regulation Act first thing in the morning. We have a four-year power gap and the longer the minister waits the longer we will have load shedding. It is that obvious @CyrilRamaphosa
