People act like sex trafficking looks like brown guys grabbing women off the streets and pushing them into unmarked vans. It looks nothing like that.

You could nearly eliminate it in this country if you:
1. Prosecuted DV perpetrators. Trafficking actually looks like DV most of the time.
2. Streamlined legal immigration. Traffickers use uncertain immigration status to trap victims.
3. Decriminalized sex work. The people in the best position to identify and actually help trafficking victims are actual sex workers. That’s why it’s associated with decreased rates of trafficking where it exists.
4. Created an actual social safety net. No child should ever be unhoused in this country.
