Obviously this is all funny but it is disconcertingly weird that the entire thing - the Chinese spying, the publicly riding up nuclear submarine captains and humping notable politics correspondents - has been comparatively low key. This would once have wrecked governments.
It's revealing how none of you had anything to say about George Holmes, the money laundering former VC of Greater Manchester University. That's serious criminality but we know why you're silent, no?
This Israeli journalist is a close Netanyahu ally.
The Israeli state is responding to the surge in Palestinian voting by inventing lies about foreign funding and terrorist links.
(The irony here? Segal is the son of an Israeli terrorist who bombed Palestinian mayors)
Tesco could pay every worker an extra £10,000 and still make a profit.
British Gas could pay every worker an extra £35,000 and still make a profit.
Shell could pay every worker an extra £300,000 and still make a profit.
It is the billionaires who are ripping you off.
I’ve written to @premierleague Chief Executive Richard Masters demanding action on poverty chanting following Everton’s game against Chelsea.
Everton & Liverpool supporters have endured this class prejudice for years. Mocking families who cannot afford to put food on the table is shameful.
Through Fans Supporting Foodbanks, supporters stand together to feed our communities. The Premier League must show the same solidarity & leadership.
Hunger doesn’t wear colours. It’s time our game acted like it.

While we’re in the mode of what Jason Arday did wrong. Helen’s Private Eye compared him Jeffery Archer and Mohammed El Fayed as a liar and fabulist. Her podcast on him has been deleted, but I see no mea culpa now he has been cleared of plagiarism by 4 committees
@irelandresource@Grace0938@LewisJonathanE Well said 👏🏼!
One line that stands…
“The real question is why our willingness to speak about Palestinian suffering seems to offend you more than the suffering itself.”
An obsession w/ Zionists’ reputation rather than w/ the horrors we see on our screens every single day.
Very well said. This attacking of Ireland is all part of a shabby campaign run through a small group of Irish and non-irish Zionists designed to denigrate the country on account of its powerful, historic support for a free Palestine. As you say they focus on name calling e. g. antisemitic and petty events instead of recognising the barbaric misbehaviour of Israel in Gaza, WB and Lebanon.
@irelandresource@LewisJonathanE 💯. It’s the gross smear of tagging “… and Jews” to “Israel” to tar a whole nation, Ireland. It’s completely calculated to delegitimise our criticism of Israel’s hugely disproportionate military actions and war crimes. It seems he has made this his job in life.
You sir are an absolute bigot, This relentless anti Irish campaign to vilify us, is becoming absolutely deplorable. The sheer arrogance of an American lecturing an entire sovereign nation for daring to criticise the Israeli government and stand up for Palestinian human rights is quite extraordinary.
And perhaps the most disgraceful aspect of your entire rant is what you conspicuously fail to mention even once, the suffering of the Palestinian people.
Not a word about the tens of thousands killed in Gaza. Not a word about the children buried beneath rubble, families destroyed, hospitals devastated, mass displacement or the catastrophic humanitarian crisis. Absolutely nothing.
Instead, you and your little groupies on here , concern is apparently Ireland’s criticism of Israel and whether our high-tech economy might suffer as a consequence. What an extraordinary set of priorities.
Let’s establish something you seem determined to ignore. Criticism of the Israeli government is not antisemitism. Supporting Palestinian human rights is not hostility towards Jewish people. Repeating that dishonest conflation doesn’t make it true.
And here’s another distinction. Unlike the United States, Ireland does not have an AIPAC-style political lobbying machine wielding enormous influence over its foreign policy. AIPAC’s political spending and influence in Washington are well documented.
Ireland is perfectly entitled to pursue an independent foreign policy without being subjected to economic scare tactics.
Ireland is a sovereign democracy, not an American subsidiary. We don’t require Washington’s approval to defend international law, condemn the killing of civilians or demand accountability from any government, including Israel’s.
And spare us the suggestion that Ireland’s humanitarian concerns constitute some irrational national obsession. The real question is why our willingness to speak about Palestinian suffering seems to offend you more than the suffering itself.
You managed to write an entire attack on Ireland without expressing a single word of compassion for Palestinian civilians.
That is perhaps the most damning indictment of your argument. Not Ireland’s supposed obsession with Israel, but your extraordinary determination to make Ireland the villain while the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza barely warrants a mention.
You sir might also want to address the uncontrollable antisemitism that’s rife across the US before doing Israel’s bidding to vilify Ireland
Ireland will not be bullied into silence. And nor should it be.
