How are governments actually using AI?
In the first episode of AI Policy Brew, @WilsonLWhite and Public First’s @jondupont talk about how AI can deliver tangible results and government that works. https://t.co/dlshVQs4uT
Congrats on an incredible run @tim_cook , always respected your deep commitment to Apple's mission and best wishes in your new role! Look forward to working with John as well!
Thank you for the productive discussion, Chairman Kim. We value our ongoing dialogue with the KMCC and remain deeply committed to supporting the growth of South Korea’s developer community. We look forward to working together to build a fair and sustainable app ecosystem for all.

Exciting news! Together with Epic Games we have filed a proposed set of changes to Android and Google Play that focus on expanding developer choice and flexibility, lowering fees, and encouraging more competition all while keeping users safe. If approved, this would resolve our litigations. We look forward to discussing further with the Judge on Thursday.
Google has made an awesome proposal, subject to court approval, to open up Android in the US Epic v Google case and settle our disputes. It genuinely doubles down on Android's original vision as an open platform to streamline competing store installs globally, reduce service fees for developers on Google Play, and enable third-party in-app and web payments.
This is a comprehensive solution, which stands in contrast to Apple’s model of blocking all competing stores and leaving payments as the only vector for competition. The public filings are live.
This is a witty representation of the silliness of South Korea’s refusal to allow @googlemaps services. Functionality of American tech should not be blocked on misguided “security grounds”. Our friends in Seoul can do better here.
To all my friends traveling to South Korea for the APEC Leaders Meeting and @apecceosummit25 this week: I’m sorry to tell you that Google Maps still won’t be available to help you get around. Notwithstanding years of effort, applications, and adjustments to the products by Google to try to meet Korean government requirements, we are still not able to offer the world’s most popular online navigation product there (sadly making South Korea one of a handful of countries - together with North Korea, Iran and China - where it’s not available). We've long argued that so-called digital services taxes violate long-established rules, hurt the countries that adopt them, and discriminate against American companies and taxpayers. Applaud President Trump's strong and longstanding stance on these taxes.
Spoke at the AI Round Table in the Google for India 2024 event held at Bharat Mandapam a couple of days back. AI based solutions in Healthcare and Education must be the top priority, I emphasised.
Held meeting with senior executives of Google, Mr @WilsonLWhite, Vice President, Global Affairs, Google, Mr Sreenivasa Reddy, MD, Government Affairs and Public Policy, India and Mr Rajesh Ranjan, Head of Government Affairs and Public Policy, to explore the possibilities of skill development of students across India.
Several exciting and implementable options have been discussed, which will be converted into reality soon.
Excited to announce that the first of our Made in India Google #Pixel8 devices have started rolling off the production lines 🥹
Grateful for the partnership with Hon'ble Minister @AshwiniVaishnaw as we look forward to bringing the #TeamPixel experience to people across India 🤝
Thrilled about Pixel 8 winning another important Phone of the Year award at MWC! @madebygoogle thank you to the entire Pixel user community for helping us get there, and congratulations to our team for great progress!
Open technologies, standards and interoperable systems empower consumers and grow the entire technology industry. Let’s use #OpenDigitalEcosystems to stimulate the growth of a vibrant European tech ecosystem. Words from Google's @WilsonLWhite at our reception in Barcelona. #MWC24
Speaking of phones of the year, here is my ranking of USA flagship slab phones of the year:
1) Pixel 8 Pro
2) S23 Ultra
3) iPhone 15 Pro Max
I don't think this is much of a surprise for my followers. I just prefer the way Pixels work compared to Samsung, and the cameras are better imo. That said, the S23U is a beast, and it's been right at the top since it launched in Q1, so that's impressive.
As for the 15 Pro Max, I do think this is maybe the best upgrade in years, and they are great phones. My parents actually upgraded to them and they love them. I personally am just not a fan of iOS, so iPhones will never be the top phone for me.
Kind of sucks that there are only 3 big phone makers in the USA market, I hope next year to include the OnePlus 12 in this list, I just wasn't a huge fan of the OP 11.
Next week @Google will defend the choice and flexibility #Android has brought to millions of developers and billions of users against "claims" by a multi-billion dollar company who wants all the benefits of Android and Google Play without having to pay. https://t.co/LNqjTwlfzS
