Bethesda looking beautiful in the sunshine this morning, ready to welcome our Dons (teachers) back next week.
Bethesda was built as the College sick house in the 1650s. It is named after the healing pool referred to in John's Gospel. It is now a common room for the Dons.
Today we are facing Army Cricket

What a couple of weeks it has been, NGS at the beginning of June and preparation for Wykeham day tomorrow. The team have smashed it this year and the campus is looking stunning.

This season we have started taking data out of our playing surfaces aiming to improve quality and consistency. Moisture levels along with Clegg hammer readings take some of the guesswork out of cricket pitch preparation. We are always looking to improve on the Grounds and Gardens

This is ‘Paradise Regained’, a garden in Winchester College’s Outer Court in front of Treasury museum and Moberly Library. The photo was taken in 1924 by the then Headmaster Montague Rendall.
It has been a pleasure to host the local derby between @TwyfordSchool and @PilgrimsSchool today. Congratulations to Twyford for the wins that were set up by some impressive batting performances. We wish all the players a positive summer of cricket.
Wow what a contrast in weather.
One day apart, torrential rain yesterday to hosting the U17's cup game today. Again an amazing effort from the team over the last two days.

The local resident ducks have enjoyed the top up of rain throughout the week and it seems they have permanently relocated onto the campus. Through sheer grit and determination we have hosted 4 games this weekend. The Grounds& Gardens team wish everyone a relaxing exeat weekend.
First game of the season done. Huge shift from the ground staff to get the games on this weekend. What a battle it has been with the weather it has been over the last three weeks.
Great to see the ground in use and we are looking forward to the season ahead.

The sheer amount of work carried out by our gardens team over the winter is incredible. Management of areas that have not been touched for years has begun with longer term development in mind. We are looking forward to showcasing the gardens on multiple tours throughout the year.
