Mom is really scared, that little brother will go back to being scared of everything after i went over the 🌈rainbow bridge🌈 today... was all jumpy, going out for a pee at night, the first time as an only hound... 😞 a lot of loneliness and crying tonight...

Goober is blind 😞
We spotted this boy at the other shelter last night and he came as an extra because last minute we could see he was blind. That’s been confirmed today at the vets.
He has Progressive retinal atrophy. A shelter is no place for a blind worried boy so let’s share and get him a wonderful home please.
He’s 5yrs old … please please, let’s get him a home 🏠🩷🙏

Update from Olive. Despite my urgent plea, I still haven’t found my new home as people find out that I be worried with unfamiliar dogs. I can’t stay in my current home much longer, so if I don’t find a home soon, I’ll have to go into kennels. Please help!

She’s one of the new three that were rescued together in the trap. We’ve gone for a flower theme ♥️
She’s so exhausted from surviving that she hardly moves from her bed.
She’s very shy but we hope we can work with her soon after she’s decompressed.

Kiwi 🥝
After a difficult night last night it’s good news again for kiwi this morning.
His bloods are almost back to normal (will never be 100%) which is a miracle considering his kidneys were crashed a week ago. It’s hard to believe 🥝🥝
He’s been steadily improving this past week as you know. For those that understand a bit about kidney function, his Fosforo was 23 🤯and now it’s back down to a normal 4.5.
We never thought that was possible but it’s truly a miracle.
Some dogs haven’t made it back from a reading of 16.Last night’s head tremor was temporary. It may or may not be related to what’s going on.
We’ve had a few dogs with idiopathic head tremors.
He will see the Neuro vet later and we will update once we know but for now he’s eating and currently out on a walk.
He’s very thin so this also needs addressing.
For those asking us to euthanize. I can assure you we won’t be doing that based on a dog that’s shown this last week what a fighter he is.
If further tests or diagnosis come back showing he needs to be euthanized then we make the decision but we absolutely do not make such a final decision based on a blip that may not even be connected to his current condition.
That would be against everything we stand for.
So for now Kiwi lives to fight another day with a good set of bloods and a visit with the Nuero vet.

Kiwis bloods are slightly better 😍
Still in danger but the fact he’s eating so well today gives us some hope. We won’t be giving up just yet despite him being on deaths door a few nights ago.
We are going to limit the info given now on what we are doing with kiwi treatment wise due to the influx of messages regarding him eating some ham.
We are aware ham isn’t great but whilst on deaths door a few slices not a whole pig, is what kept him motivated and going.
He won’t eat the kidney food, text book is great but reality is different and yesterday he wouldn’t even really take the chicken broth that no dog has ever refused.
Today he’s moving onto better home cooked food. If we can get him to eat the kidney food we will. HE WON’T at the moment.
Of course we will keep you updated on him generally but sharing his treatment, food and symptoms are off the table for now and will be for us and the vets only.

It’s always harder when they’ve been used to a home and that’s the case for Cuko & Cuka.
These two couldn’t stay at home and are now in the gds kennels.
At ten years old this breaks our hearts. We need to find them a home together 🙏🏻
They are calm, quiet, great on a lead and very loving ❤️
Let’s get them warm and cosy for 2026 .. plz share 🙏🏻❤️
