@FelicityCarter The entire set up & definition of "flawed" wine is a straw man. Flaws are not "deviations from the expected."
"When you sip a wine and say, 'Itโs Bretty,' is that so different from observing a person & immediately commenting that their abs are flabby..." Yes, it is SO different.
Santa Barbara County Wine Country is defined by its transverse (east-west) moutains which promote on shore breezes. Its proving - again - to assist in keeping our air quality pristine as fires rage east of us.
@SBCWines
@wblakegray Had pony tail and bun for ages (throughout the 90s), but now I realize that's too 'in' (& I realize is not your vibe to do what's popular ๐). I think headband is great suggestion, the thin ones like soccer players used to wear.
Or buy clippers.
@openingabottle @megmaker Certainly it drives some of the outcome. But in a way a 25 degree slope, e.g., with easterly aspect doesn't really tell you much about how a wine tastes-or, honestly, why it tastes that way relative to the broader wine world. Though admittedly it may have a relative role locally.
@openingabottle @megmaker 1: agree regarding being told hiw wine tastes. 2: I wonder if it's like a winemaker being told (by a writer) what you "should" have done to your wine. 3: I might argue soil, topography, etc is meaningless info too. Just tell me what you think mattered most to driving the outcome.
@wblakegray Depends on experience & wine price. Much goes into it, but one factor is to use tasting fee as a filter for customers. If you are not willing to pay x $ for experience/taste, you may not pay y $ for the wine. So the fee can increase probability of person being real customer.
It may feel sudden to some, but it is important to know this has been building: Between March 2020 to February 2021, there have been 3,800 anti-Asian incidents.
In NYC, theย NYPD dataย has shown an increase of 1,900% in anti-Asian hate crime between 2019 & 2020. #StopAsianHate
