I used to be proud of my alma mater @WheatonCollege. But not after covering up sex abuse of students for 3 decades! It's also honored those responsible, naming divinity schl after @duane_litfin, cafe after Sam Shellhamer & failed to censure Pres Ryken 1/

It's time for the USA to reform Statute of Limitations (SOL) laws to reflect the reality of abuse. Most people don't disclose until decades later (hello, trauma). When I disclosed at 15 (a miracle), I was not believed. I had to tell and retell my story before I was believed.
So a megachurch evangelical pastor has been credibly accused of child sexual abuse and we’re still waiting for the voices of compassion for the victim and outrage for the offender from other evangelical leadership. Their silence (which is not generally one of their better known character traits) speaks volumes. Sad volumes.
