I'm a #brooklynboy and biologist with a passion for #butterflies. I tell true stories about the art and science of photographing these fascinating insects!
Another beautiful #butterfly from the first ever set of butterfly themed #cigarette#cards issued by #Kinney Bros of America in 1888. Bid now https://t.co/oOoYNuRjyH
Came across this from an email and this is super exciting it’s important to highlight black voices in the movement of environmentalism so make sure to mark this on your calendars people and listen closely! #Diversity#BlackinEnvironment
Honestly, my most cherished friendships are the people I have met over the internet. It’s meeting people like @starryflo who sends me a Cal sweater when I got accepted. It’s people like @jkfordays who house and spend time with you when you’re visiting for a guest lecture. 💛
@BugEric@FaunaVentureRob@WingedBeautyCom @LepTreks @Promando @RosemaryMosco@ErikRunquist@JagerCA @BSburks @swamphiker @FieldEcology @SJButterflier @Kelsey_E_Fisher @Butterfly101Fun I’ve seen papers but the question becomes whether anyone knows enough about changes in composition (one type of cricket or another) to say in a reproducible way that the switch means X. I’m sure someone knows or could find out but we already have Europe basing ag policy on Leps.
@BugEric@FaunaVentureRob@WingedBeautyCom @LepTreks @Promando @RosemaryMosco@ErikRunquist@JagerCA @BSburks @swamphiker @FieldEcology @SJButterflier @Kelsey_E_Fisher @Butterfly101Fun I’m all about it we need to find a way to make it function & be digestible. Imagine trying to use the 11,000 moths in the US rather that species from representative groups. Oversampling lives somewhere in there as we approach monitoring complexity across taxa.
