Jack Rebney has passed over to great RV in the sky. He was 93 years old. He softened in his old age, but never stopped hating flies. He called his notoriety, “completely irrelevant” but he loved being “The Winnebago Man.” RIP Jack. You did us all a kindness.
Pour one out for Jack Rabney, the Winnebago Man so beloved of the early internet. You were a dude having a day, and you got many of us through days of our own.
RIP 🖤 Social media may give you all the irate shouting you can handle nowadays, but WINNEBAGO MAN is still a great tribute to the master of the meltdown 😤
RIP Jack Rebney. The man was a legend and my wife and I still quote him years after Winnebago Man. “I don't want any more bullshit anytime during the day, from anyone. That includes me!”
I routinely revisit the original Winnebago Man video. It has never stopped being funny and it’s easily the most accurate representation of the frustrations working on a film set. RIP to a legend
I've rewatched the Winnebago Man video six trillion times. I say "You goddamn jackass" whenever I see a fly. I say "It doesn't make any difference to me at this juncture" whenever I'm presented with an inconsequential decision. He will always be a legend to me.
I often ask "Will you do me a kindness?"
It’s such a beautiful, disarming question.
The soul who coined it, Winnebago Man Jack Rebney, has died.
We’ve all had days like this 👇
Ask the maker to do us a kindness Jack 💜

We join @KinoLorber in commemorating the memory of #JackRebney and his legendary outtakes. Per his friend's post, "I ask all of you who care to watch WINNEBAGO MAN (2010) again. That's the best way to remember him."

Ten years ago, director Ben Steinbauer introduced us to the human behind the Winnebago Man. While the film's humor & poignancy remain vibrant, the commentary on the meme-ification of culture is more relevant than ever.
