Update on xMoney Stablecoins
In December, we announced EURXM, USDXM, and RONXM, three fully MiCA-aligned, 1:1 fiat-backed stablecoins, and shared a tentative operational target of June 2026 for launch, depending on final Central Bank regulation coming into effect.
Here’s a brief update on the status, timeline, and next steps.
First, the good news. The products are built. The whitepapers are published. The reserve and audit framework is in place, the infrastructure is ready, and our partners are lined up. From a technology and product standpoint, we are ready to launch.
Second, what we are waiting on is legal and regulatory in nature, and it sits within the jurisdiction of the Central Bank. To be more precise, under MiCA, an e-money token can only be issued once the national competent authority responsible for e-money tokens is formally designated and operational in the issuer's home country. Our stablecoins are issued under a Romanian electronic money license, which means the relevant authority is the National Bank of Romania, but the step that formally activates supervision of e-money token issuance still requires a specific piece of national legislation which is not fully finalized.
That legislation is currently in the works, and Romania is in a government-formation period, meaning a caretaker government operates with limited constitutional powers; hence, it cannot adopt the type of ordinance this step requires until a new government is in place. In other words, we are ready, the European framework is ready, and we are waiting on a national procedural step that today's interim government is not in a position to complete.
Since we operate under full regulated clearance, this means we will only be able to launch when the framework is properly in place and full authorization is ready. After all, this is what MiCA-compliant means.
We are staying close to the process; our infrastructure remains ready, and we are prepared to move with intention once the framework becomes operational.

Where I am torn though is on the direction and the proposed budget

The team has mentioned on a couple occasions that they took a “build it and they will come approach” that didn’t pan out
Yet the 2026 roadmap seems to stay the course
So why am I torn and still bullish?
As I’ve said over and over again, we are still so incredibly early
Less than .1% of the world uses blockchain tech daily and right now the general perception of crypto and Web3 is garbage
Between presidential memecoins, billions in hacks, and a god aweful UX across much of the space, it is clear that we aren’t even close to escaping the dialup phase of Web3 yet

Jump into any peptide chat that only takes crypto and see how much of a cluster F it is for most to figure out
Someone shouldn’t need a 10 step PDF detailing how to pay for a product
So is now the best time to be dumping millions into marketing campaigns while interest is at rock bottom and the system is mostly unusable?
We have teams fighting over who can get their token shown on the Las Vegas Sphere or logo painted on a NASCAR for 7 figures
That is the definition of dumb money and teams would be better off burning their tokens than spending it on dumb crap like that
Now is the time to be hardening the infrastructure
Securing it against future quantum risks
Improving the UX
Building a foundation that devs can actually create something meaningful on
The space as a whole has failed at that for the most part which is why we still have Web2 giants with more devs than the entirety of Web3
Some may argue that we already have winners and that network effects will carry them through
I’ll argue that there is no meaningful network yet
One hack. One crash. One takeover.
That’s all it would take to topple any of the major chains now and quickly shift the landscape
AOL, MySpace, Blockbuster, Blackberry, and dozens of other mostly forgotten brands had a bigger footprint on the world than any single protocol does right now
So until the framework is in place and we have something that truly improves the lives of millions or even billions, it is still anyone’s game
MultiversX seems to be taking an approach with that in mind and it may just be the winning one
What got built.
Finality went from 12 seconds to 6 seconds with ANDROMEDA in May 2025. Supernova targets 600 milliseconds.
A 20x reduction across two upgrades. The protocol that exists today is structurally different from the one that existed two years ago.

Agents Are Eating the World
A few structural shifts redefining value creation, market topology, and the architecture of the firm.
The Death of the Session
The fundamental unit of software is shifting from the “session”, a human sitting in front of an interface, clicking through menus, to the “task.” Agents don’t browse. They execute. This collapses the entire UX layer that defined the last three decades of software into a thin orchestration membrane. The companies that built moats around user habit and design familiarity are discovering those moats were made of sand. When an agent books your flight, it doesn’t care about your airline’s homepage redesign. It cares about the API. The implication is seismic: distribution advantages based on UI stickiness are evaporating. The new moat is data gravity and API surface area.
