It's official: THE INSIDER UNION IS ON STRIKE.
Management failed to agree on a fair contract that settles our healthcare ULP and pays us what we're worth. Starting now, over 250 Insider employees are on indefinite strike.
You want us back @thisisinsider? Settle the contract. ✊
We’re picketing with the more than 250 @InsiderUnion journalists who are on ULP strike!
Members across the @nyguild stand strong together.
Hey @hblodget@nichcarlson, it’s time to stop breaking the law and settle a fair union contract!
Insider employees are on an open-ended ULP strike and will not be paid during this time, losing their paychecks. Many of our members need additional funds to make ends meet, so we’ve set up a Gofundme to help them out: https://t.co/FxTrgdinr9
We're thrilled to announce that @Reviewed's Editorial staff—a team of writers, editors, photographers, lab experts, graphic designers, video producers, and more—has formed a union with @bostonnewsguild to ensure better working conditions for all. [1/5]
Meredith Kopit Levien, the CEO of the @nytimes, was paid $5.8 million in 2021, up from $4.4 million in 2020. Meanwhile, management has offered @NYTimesGuild employees a paltry raise (which, in light of inflation, amounts to a pay cut) and fought against a $65,000 minimum salary.
From the @NYTimesGuild rally: "This fight is not easy. A work stoppage is not easy... One of the beautiful parts of our union is that we are standing up for both workers and journalism. We do our best work when we are treated equitably."
