Wisconsin's hospital costs are the 4th highest in the nation. Why is this reality and what can be done? @ravervelde joined @DanODonnellShow yesterday to discuss: https://t.co/GlTXWQQPin
Thanks to property tax increases like Governor Evers' 400-year veto, the average age of a first-time homeowner in Wisconsin is now 40. Ten years ago, the average age was 29.

"Businesses decide where to invest based on which states make it easiest to operate, grow, and succeed. Some states roll out the red carpet for businesses. Other states roll out the red tape."

In the first episode of a new video series, @Kurt_R_Bauer and @WadeGoodsell bring WMC Foundation's Wisconsin Competitiveness Report to life. Will we be a state that rolls out the red carpet for business, or will we continue to create red tape?
This Memorial Day, we honor the courageous men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Their bravery and dedication have secured the freedoms and opportunities we cherish. We are grateful.

"Wisconsin’s workforce crisis is real, measurable, and solvable — but only if policymakers choose incentives that reward work and skill building. If we want to remain competitive, we must stop normalizing policies that sideline workers." https://t.co/rn76suAYus
"Tax Day, for many, is often synonymous with wondering how much we owe or get back. The real question Wisconsin families and businesses should be asking first is 'Why are we paying so much?'"

One of Wisconsin's biggest economic disadvantages is our egregiously high health care costs. The data is alarming:
🚨 Wisconsin has the second‑highest health care costs in the nation
🚨 Health care consumes 34% more of per‑capita income than elsewhere
🚨 Since 2000, hospital prices have increased 260%, nearly three times faster than household incomes
🚨 There are rampant price disparities between Wisconsin hospitals for the same services and procedures
Wisconsin’s health care costs are putting families and employers at risk. Nearly seven in ten Wisconsin employers say rising health care costs have forced them to cut hiring, reduce investment, lower compensation, or raise prices.
