“No N applied” case #2. Same client and right across road from the first case. Nutrient supply rates are nearly identical too. Just to be clear there is no manure or unusual circumstances to account for this. Just largely unused fert from 2021 drought. Just phos applied.

Pic on left canola with no N applied (pic last night). On right is fall @Western_Ag “cropcast” showing 159 lbs of N supply for this crop. Even with questions about status with spring leaching etc client chose to run with the fall plan. Interestingly no S applied either only phos.

Much of the high residual N we saw fall ‘21 moved down the soil profile in spring ‘22. Many (including us) were concerned about the affect on ‘22 applied N strategy. Some ignored the 0 N rec’s from fall. Some hedged. Some stuck to plan. Will be posting 0 N fields in coming days.
