In a weird way the universal taboo on eugenics is a blessing. India could probably become an actual superpower in 50 years with an aggressive eugenic policy, but libtardism keeps them poor, dirty and brown.
@ErlosenSalHi@TheGloriousLion At the same time tho, DS is a useful example because it is really easy and common to screen for compared to something like cystic fibrosis or low-functioning autism.
@ErlosenSalHi@TheGloriousLion Hmmm, that does actually raise a good point, because some DS people are verbal and cognizant (and some are not), and you don't really know this during gestation. It would alter the calculation somewhat. DS is focused on rn because of that youtuber couple I think.
@ErlosenSalHi@TheGloriousLion And fair enough, they don't significantly affect the genepool, but they will be a constant burden of society and their family.
@ErlosenSalHi@TheGloriousLion I wouldn't say we should actively kill them, but if a woman was informed that her child was going to be an imbecile that would need constant care for the rest of its life, then imo the option of abortion should be available to her.
@ErlosenSalHi@TheGloriousLion My argument is that humans are not fundamentally (equally) valuable and that in some instances you might be better off not having certain classes of people around. You seem to readily understand this when it comes to immigration, but not with the general genepool.
@jaihoo110974@CheddarKin44065@fgfdbnj19985@pelagiusreborn Yeah, in studies of demographics there is a phenomenon called age-heaping. When literacy and record-keeping are poor, people just round their age up or down to the nearest five.
