@w2chaser@adamstatonsmith Because in home buying you normally condition your offer based on things like financing or inspection. It gives you a way to get out of the deal if let’s say the foundation is destroyed.

Obviously the seller is allowed to say no but sellers are more likely to act in good faith that there was an issue found in DD when in reality there isnt
