Astronomers have peered into the home galaxies of fast radio bursts, bringing us a step closer to understanding the origins of these mysterious signals from outer space. https://t.co/VtchdOYgpT
Congrats to the #ASKAP CRAFT Survey Science Team on using FRBs localised with our Australia @SKA_telescope Pathfinder to find the missing 'normal' matter in the Universe! Great international collaboration involving many many researchers and our optical #astronomy partners @ESO
150 galaxies in a single view! ASKAP’s WALLABY science survey team produces some of the most comprehensive high-resolution images ever taken of the Hydra cluster region https://t.co/tcT7TQbaci
With all pilot survey data on disk we look forward to seeing lots of exciting science in the coming months. Now data processing begins in earnest at @PawseyCentre
Although 2020 is challenging, the countdown to ASKAP survey science continues. With procedures in place to protect observatory staff, data continues to flow from the telescope. Congrats to the GASKAP survey team on this image of the SMC 👏 @NickolasPingel https://t.co/EdntWPNHS8
ASKAP's April Update reports on observatory operations in the COVID-19 era. Our widely-spread team continues pilot surveys and technical development remotely. Image shows improved rejection of satellite interference (vertical stripes) during beam formation https://t.co/i7Wkxi89Uj
Phew!! It was a bit of a saga, but @Wm2Hz and I managed to get @CSIRO_ATNF#ASKAP prepped with all 36 dishes - we will be observing GAMA-09 at roughly the same time as @eROSITA_SRG in support of their performance verification 🛰📡 here’s to some nice radio + x-ray data!! #SWAGX
Tune in at ~6:20pm to @rgloveroz on @abcsydney AM702, to hear our very own @CSIRO astronomer, Vanessa Moss @cosmicpudding chat about the Orionid meteor shower! These meteors come from Halley's Comet and can be seen in the sky tonight 🌌🌠 (Image: @AAOMacquarie)
Visited the @radiotelescoop today for some research nostalgia, observing single pulses from B0329+54! It's a great mix of historic and modern technology.
Thanks very much to the #ADASS2019 POC and LOC for a great meeting, many interesting talks and lots of nice discussion!! Glad to have been here representing @CSIRO_ATNF 😊 telescope tour coming up and then I’m gonna sleep for many many hours... 😅 @NoTruerAlien@robpixxx
Thanks again to everyone who came to #ADASS2019 BoF #4 and especially those who spoke about various telescopes and facilities!! Was great to get insights into the successes and challenges across the community 👍 hoping for future discussion to come! @HIprocessor
