@SocialImpurity@CathyYoung63 Fleeing the police, disobeying the immigration laws, ramming your car into law enforcement isn’t the same as being a law abiding citizen
Estimates are that 3m illegals have been deported since Jan ‘25. Not terrible. ~1m forced deportations and ~2m self deportations. The numbers will continue to rise as DHS expands ICE and US Fed continues to eliminate benefits for illegals. Also closing down the border has created net-negative immigration for the first time since the 1930s. I think we have smart immigration policy, we just haven’t been enforcing it until recently.
@ThomasDwyane1@ReichlinMelnick I don’t care if they are non-violent. I want as many of the illegal immigrants to deport back to their native countries s as possible.
The 135th and final shuttle launch! 🚀
July 8 marks the 15th anniversary of the historic final launch of NASA's 30-year Space Shuttle Program. With its crew of 4 astronauts, Atlantis lifted off at 11:29 am to begin STS-135, its last journey to the International Space Station.
@Kronen@SKreee4986@markvalorian VAR absolutely used slow-motion replays during Balogun's red card review. In fact, the misuse of slow motion in this exact incident is the reason FIFA suspended the one-game ban. This is well established.
Lol…you need to do side research. “…international rules strictly forbid VAR using slow motion to determine the severity or intensity of a tackle or penalty. [1]” . “To determine the severity of a penalty or card—meaning whether a foul was just a simple careless slip, a yellow-card reckless challenge, or a red-card offense using excessive force—the referee must watch the footage at normal speed. Normal speed allows the official to accurately judge”
FIFA’s “Article 27 refers to a specific rule in the FIFA Disciplinary Code (FDC) titled "Suspension of Implementation of Disciplinary Measures" “This specific article allows FIFA's judicial body to fully or partially suspend a punishment on probationfor a period of one to four years. Instead of enforcing an automatic match ban (like the one that follows a red card)”
@DiceElDani The red card should never have been given, which is why they suspended the one-game ban. There is a precedent for suspending a ban. The US was already unjustly penalized by playing a man down for 36 minutes with only a 1-goal lead in a World Cup knockout game.
@Kronen@markvalorian I didn’t say the red card was suspended. The one-game ban was suspended. The reason for the suspension of the one-game ban is because the red card should never have been given. Amazingly, there doesn’t seem to be a process within FIFA to overturn bad red cards.
@Kronen@markvalorian Apparently, it’s not against the rules to suspend a one-game ban. The red card should never have been given, which is why they suspended the ban. The US was already unjustly penalized by playing a man down for 36 minutes with only a 1-goal lead in a World Cup knockout game.
The people arguing against Balogun returning are basically saying, “Nooo! Soccer is supposed to be stupid and arbitrary! You’re ruining the sport by making sure justice is served!”
