In Nigeria, a 100 year war was brutally interrupted by British artillery, opening the interior for colonial extraction & criminal taxation

By 1929, fierce feminist pioneers Aba women had attempted to burn down British establishments and force out their colonial administrator.

By 1947, Ẹgbá amazon & Lioness of Lisabi, Funmilayo Ransome Kuti had fought the same fight, even closer to Ibadan, at Abeokuta.

In between those eras,
Bowers Tower was built

A century later, #Ibadan people visit this top spot purely for fun & vibes, completely disconnected from the reason it is there in the 1st place.
