@mattylufc_ Remember when we had to keep Baz and Key for 'instituitonal knowledge' of playing in Australia? Bangladesh rock up for their first test there in 23 years and batter them lol
@AdamSants_ Private ownership and the rebrands have killed off any plausible reason for county fans to watch it. If I wanted to watch MI v Sunrisers, I have a 3 months of the IPL on TV to do so. Why would I need to travel to Leeds and part with £40 to do it?
@PeteLiggins@TimesSport@swildecricket Exactly this. Association with Middx/Lords meant it was easy to pick up and follow Spirit. Now the team is owned by the egg and bacon brigade plus a bunch of American millionaires why would I care about it?
@ejhchess@siennamarla@ToniaAntoniazzi She's as bad as the rest of them. Just like Goodall, it's time to stop giving her a pass just because she was somewhat curious about understanding Corbynism 7 or 8 years ago.
@stokaljona There's been loads of clamour to get Curran into the team buts he's in the same bag as Liam Livingstone. Very good at franchise level, not good enough for international T20
@mroller98 @ESPNcricinfo Good piece, Matt. Key can't spend 2 years publicly touting 'we select players based on how they go in Australia' and then expect to have any credibility left once that strategy has been shown to be a total failure.
@mattylufc_ One decent day and a tiny bit of fight (once the pressure is off) and the broadcast media are all back to giving McCullum puppy dog eyes again. Incredible to listen to given they've blown it so spectacularly
@Ben_Wisden Which is why blowing it in Perth was the original sin of this tour. Everything is different if they don't implode from the 100-1 position on the morning of Day 2. There was no credible way back from that against a very good team in their own conditions
