I was unfortunately among those laid off last week. It's hard to say goodbye. Bungie is a huge reason I even joined the industry. While I am devastated, I can at least look back and proudly say I worked on my favorite game and worked with amazing, passionate people💙
Destiny 2 players organize “Server Slam” as some call for a Sony boycott
The Destiny 2 community is encouraging players to log in on Bungie Day, July 7, for one final “Server Slam.”
They want to celebrate the game one last time and overwhelm the servers.
Players are calling for a Sony boycott to send a message following the end of major development and support only for Marathon
This is a recall notice for guardians at home and abroad.
On 7/7, we run it back. For the friends we've made, loved ones we've lost, and the devs who sacrificed buckets of blood for this game, return this Bungie Day.

🚨PlayStation's Hermen Hulst on Destiny:
Bungie "has begun a new journey following the release of the game’s final live-service content update. What Bungie has accomplished with Destiny over the past decade has been truly remarkable. The franchise has left a lasting mark on players and the industry, and everyone who contributed to its success should be proud of what they helped create."

@Ahvora_ one hell of a strategy to:
* Kill the most famous one and piss off thousands of people
* refuses to greenlight anything related or incubated/pitched
* backs up firing 400 people
* turn around and go we want new live service games
So basically Sony shut Destiny 2 down because they felt threatened by its overwhelming presence, and they obviously can’t make new successful live services if Destiny 2 is still in the picture…
…Is that the message between the lines that I’m understanding correctly?
This is the moment to support the developers. If you see someone who was a former Bungie Dev and you have the ability to boost their work, now is a time to do it.
My heart goes out to the Destiny 2 Team. This isn't fair, especially when you all worked so hard to right the ship.
We fight for our fireteams. We fight for the devs fired after breathing life into this world.
On 7/7, run it back. Return to the Last City.
Show the world what this game meant to us. Stand for Destiny, even at the end.

this really feels like the end of Destiny as we know it
i don’t think we'll ever see another Destiny release again
heartbreaking to see what has become of Bungie, a studio that helped define an entire generation of FPS games
🚨 NEW: Sony leadership reportedly has a "desire for revenge" against Bungie over issues with its live service strategy, with "internal resistance/strong pushback" at PlayStation over the decision to end Destiny 2 live service support - https://t.co/ThhqFlelo0
