Ayo is so damn good at basketball.
Just no weakness in his game.
When he gets downhill into the painted area, it feels like a 100% certainty that he's gonna put the ball in the hoop.
I have been a firm believer that Jaden McDaniels can thrive at the 4, but Minnesota still needs to land one more big body for certain matchups, and as insurance for Rudy Gobert/Joan Beringer
Not sure if the wolves are in a position to be picky with front court depth. But id be very sceptical about Kummingas fit with this squad. if we went the sign and trade route. I have questions about his ability to adapt to a certain role. Would prefer a lower maintenance option.
The trade looks even worse for Brad Stevens. I dont see a world where his job survives something like this after next season. Celtics fans should be pissed. He allowed a division rival to turn into a legit contender.
@r_mack Not that unreasonable of a decision when looking at the eastern conference. Brown is a proven winner, maxey has shown be a more reliable option than Melo (as fun as Melo is).
Edgecombe is legit and will only get better. The main concern is keeping Joel healthy for a playoff run.
Wish people would stop pushing this narrative. We have seen multiple trades happen since lebron informed the lakers of his departure. We have seen signings happen.
We are talking about a guy that is most likely signing a minimum deal. Just exhausted by this media coverage.
The entire league is frozen waiting on LeBron.
One trusted source on what happens the moment he picks: "I think we're going to see eight or nine players sign right after LeBron makes his choice. Maybe more."
Day 23 and counting, per @TheSteinLine and @JakeLFischer 👀
1st: This has yet to be determined. You dont know what the market was for him. And there are plenty of reasons to believe he is capable of playing up to his contract.
2nd: If you think Ayo is overpaid, but Naz Reid's number should be retired, then sit this one out.
@march_mazness Id also like to point out that the Wolves would have a fair amount of players in the red if they weren't insulated by a guy like Gobert.
The Ayo hate is so weird man. Hes one of the most versatile guys on the team. He can play so many different roles.
Can operate in pick and roll, play off ball and be effective in the catch and shoot, can defend multiple positions, gets downhill, finishes at the rim.
@allthingsmn Lets not discredit a guy for having good shot selection. Hes not getting a 120 million dollar deal from connelly if he didnt think his 3 ball was a "bankable strength".
Hes showcased a well balanced offensive attack in the minutes hes been dealt. Im sure his attempts will go up.
Alot more to the game than being a high volume 3 point shooter. If Ayo was indeed a high volume 3 point shooting, self creation savant of some kind. We are probably talking about about an All NBA caliber type player.
Stop this shit.
@allthingsmn So let ne get this straight.
5.8 attempts on 36% shooting= bankable strength
43% on 4.6 attempts= not a bankable strength.
I think the team needs more guys that have a willingness to take good shots and make the extra pass. Finch has stated that many times.
@allthingsmn I think the issue im taking with your post is that if you go back to when he was drafted, his shot was his biggest question mark. And its wildly exceeded expectations in the NBA, and its improved every year. His process is sound. We arent talking about a 3 point specialist here.
Wow.
I didnt know there were so many shooting coaches on here that would take issue with how a guy who shoots it 40+% from deep prepares in the offseason.
Just a crazy amount of ignorance.
