His conception of family (not just the nuclear family, but extended family as well) is something we've lost here in the US
It's to the point where we consider it a privilege to have married parents. Or to have a close-knit extended family network nearby. They've become the exception, when they used to be the rule.
And while those things are blessings, they shouldn't be privileges. They should just be normal. And they shouldn't be envied. They should be revered.
