Palmerston, Diplocat extraordinaire, passed away peacefully on 12 February. “Palmy” was a special member of the Government House team in Bermuda, and a much loved family member. He was a wonderful companion, with a gentle nature, and will be sorely missed.
I don’t usually do this, but I want to say thank you for 16,000 followers.
It truly means something to know that 16,000 people have chosen to follow my journey alongside the Ukrainian people.
I am Canadian, yet I serve as the only foreigner in a Ukrainian battalion.
I am surrounded by men of immense strength who volunteered to defend their homeland. Many of the men I fight beside come from occupied territories. They carry stories of horror, displacement, and loss, and still they carry hope. The hope of returning home.
Ukrainians continue to fight while the world grows tired, distracted, and complacent in the face of daily terror inflicted upon them. That courage, that refusal to disappear, is what keeps me going.
This account is not just mine. It belongs to my battalion. And knowing that 16,000 of you stand with us tells my men that they are seen, that they are supported, and that they are not alone.
Thank you for standing with us.
