Current 5e player/DM with too many ideas and not enough campaigns to put them in. Using this space to post ideas as I get them, follow if you want to join in!
#ttrpg encounter idea that I really wanna try out.
Get everyone in your online table top, have one person put on a blindfold (turn off their player vision) and have the rest of the players give them directions through your obstacle ridden dungeon!
Anyone know any good #ttrpg rulesets for a game based on player sabotage?
I'm thinking death game style where the party works together for two or three rounds, then in the final round and whoever secretly sabotaged the others the best takes it all!
Shitty Character Idea:
A rogue who aspires to take over a dungeon and create a “Fungeon” where families can come enjoy a watered down version of adventuring for an exorbitant price.
Shitty Character Idea:
A divination wizard who believes heavily in fate, and thus uses a coin as both their spell focus and their de facto decision maker
@mirroredankh Just ran a short horror themed train-inspired dungeon I made and it went exactly how I imagined it! Had my players running from giant demons the whole time...
Also came up with an ending for the tower climb campaign I want to do, and now I can't wait to get it ready to play!
"Before you stand 3 doors. One red, one green, and one yellow. Which do you pick?"
PCs: erupt into chatter about info they've learned a long the way, clues, and strategies.
Me, the DM, knowing their first choice will definitely be wrong... #dnd#ttrpg
@FightGuyStudio@GameMasterMon Or maybe run it GM-lite? Everyone has their backstory and goal (make sure there's overlap and connections), then you watch as they run through the cars. Occasionally announce a surprise event to make them run around.
First one to accomplish their goal/find out the truth wins!
@BruceKailee @clockework Serious: made a chaotic evil character when playing a one shot with new players. Ended up playing her as good to fit the party mood.
(Gonna make her a BBEG in a future campaign)
Silly: need to commit more to my stupid ideas. I still haven't jumped off a single cliff!
Anyone else get #ttrpg inspiration from dreams?
Just heard my friend's Japanese horror style dream-a creepy rural town, missing people, and a summer festival that reveals the town is feeding a snake god human heads so it can become human.
Brb making a new horror one shot...
Every time dimensional travel comes up in my #dnd campaigns, something seems to go wrong...
Coming up soon, a campaign where the players must learn to travel across realms, and finally meet the person that keeps realm hopping and messing up all their other characters campaigns!
Does anyone have a favorite npc that they keep putting into their #ttrpg games? What's their backstory, and why are they so involved in all the things going on in your world?
Let's make a Magic School #DnD campaign!
What would you like to see at a famous school of magic?
- learn magic spells
- explore the castle
- test themed dungeons
- stumble into a dark secret about the school?
Has anyone ever done a tower climb for a #dnd campaign?
- mysterious tower
- unknown treasure at top
- shifting rooms for each climb
- mix of puzzle, acrobatic, and combat encounters
- etc etc.
What kind of things do you want to see in a mysterious tower?
Despite its glory, many locals have yet to attend a service at the recently completed cathedral. There are rumours that its creator made some ungodly deal with dark spirits to give him the inspiration and skills required to design such a marvel.
My idea:
The concepts live secretly in society. Fortune has been kidnapped, and as the kidnappers try to find a way to change their fortunes they make luck go wild for everyone in the country. The party is approached by Time and Anger and must use their abilities to save her.
#dnd Campaign Prompt:
A world in which human concepts (time, fate, death etc.) are physical beings, and messing with them messes with their concept.
Ex. If you make fortune sad, the whole country gets bad luck.
How would you build a plot around this?
