Fellow devs, never make a #wordgame. Usual people expect 50000 words dictionary of common words, Scrabble lovers expect 300000 words dictionary with a lot of wierd short words. There's no middle ground. People will blame you either way. #indiedev#indiegame#gamedev
The real problem of my game is failure to meet expectations. People think that my game is a clone of Bookworm Adventures. They expect a pure spelling game with a small deckbuilding twist while the game is more about tactical decision, future planning and resource management.
It seems like a game that involves one-turn-ahead planning is too hard for an average Steam player, especially if a player doesn't expect the game to require strategical thinking #indiegame#gamedev#indiedev
The last straw was a man whom I gave a key. He played slightly more than an hour, ignored all my tips and recommendations in the game, lost his first run (maybe two) and decided to teach me how to balance the game in his 10000 characters review full of false claims #indiegame
It's hard to see as your game is dieing because of a few negative reviews, and you can do nothing, because you can't fix what isn't broken. A mixed rating for a small indie game is a death sentence. #indiedev#gamedev#indiegame#steam
Doing our first run with the Keymaster in @Words_CanKill, on the hardest difficulty! Stop by and see why this is such a great game! https://t.co/z9BMslrPvH
I thought 4500 wishlists will be enough to get 10 reviews during the release week. So I didn't use unhealthy practices with asking friends for reviews or paying for reviews. 20-55 sells per review was wrong for me. I have 100 to 1 #indiedev#indiegame#gamedev#steam#postmortem
My game will be buried in the Steam oblivion soon. 4500 wishlists, 500+ units sold. Average playtime is not bad. And just 6 reviews... I don't know what to do... #steam#oblivion#indiegame#gamedev#postmortem
Come check out @Words_CanKill, a brand new roguelike where instead of cards you're equipped with a a bag of letter tiles, Scrabbling your way into high scoring combos to slay your foes! https://t.co/8oHQXz0DqX
Heyo! I know I'm not streaming today (still on a family trip :D ) but if you like word games, @Words_CanKill releases today! I definitely enjoyed it, and would recommend giving it a shot! There's a demo available if you aren't sure if you want to commit to it
Lazy game dev. There is like 10 minutes of content. Where is my meta skill tree that buffs my pawn damage so that I know I'm getting better at the game?
@whatseplaying@alleycatgames Hi, Eric! I know you prefer board games, but I've seen your review of Paperback Adventures and you said you love Slay the Spire. What about trying my game Words Can Kill. The demo is available on Steam (the full game is almost ready). I want to know your honest opinion :)
@Dehumanised I plan to make a final update to the demo this night. The full game is still under work (but almost ready). I'll add an alternative controls after many requests (click board -> than click letters). I'll be glad if you try it and give me some feedback. Thank you one more time!

Words Can Kill (@Words_CanKill ) puts a unique spin on the roguelike deckbuilding genre by using Scrabble-esque word building mechanics for attack and defense. There is a surprising amount of content in the demo, so I highly recommend checking it out! https://t.co/55uIJBT9oG
